Art History:

Jordan Rutherford’s artistic journey began in the back rooms of The Yellow Book Store, a used bookstore and community art space they ran in Chicago for three years. What started as a passion for collecting paperbacks gradually transformed into a vibrant hub for zine fairs, art shows, and storytelling nights. Immersed in this creative environment, Jordan began crafting raw, personal zines that naturally evolved into full-length graphic novels.

Alongside their work as a freelance designer, Jordan has self-published five comics, including an autobiographical collection, a graphic adaptation of classic literature, and three short story anthologies.

Originally from Boston, Jordan is a graduate of the New England Institute of Art. They moved to Chicago 15 years ago and continue to create new work while balancing design projects and comic reading.
